About this tool

Exact Image Compressor does one thing well: it takes an image and produces a copy that fits an exact file-size limit — 20 KB, 100 KB, 1 MB, whatever a form demands — at the highest quality that limit allows.

It was built out of a familiar frustration: application portals, job sites and government forms reject photos over a strict byte limit, and generic compressors make you guess at quality sliders until something happens to fit. Here, you state the number and the tool does the searching.

Private by design

Everything runs in your browser. There is no upload, no server-side processing, no storage of your images, and the tool keeps working offline once loaded. Images like signatures, ID photos and personal documents — the very things people compress for forms — should not be sent to a stranger's server, so this tool was architected so they never are.

Free to use

The tool is free, with no accounts, limits or watermarks. It is supported by unobtrusive advertising placed away from the upload-and-download flow.
